Mess free mark making
The children used the sticks to create patterns, shapes and letters in the pouches.
This activity helped to develop our; Fine motor skills, writing skills and knowledge of shapes, letters and patterns, This activity also allowed us to explore the ways that colour can be changed.
Skittle Experiment
We talked about what order we placed the skittles in and counted how many we had. We then talked about what would happen if we poured water on them.
This activity helped to develop our: Critical thinking and prediction skills, sharing and turn taking skills and communication and language skills.
Deep Sea Rescue
Experimenting on how to melt the ice.
We counted how many creatures were in the ice, looked at the colour of the ice and the patterns that could be seen. The children tested different methods such as; hammers, spoons, forks and salt to see what would work best to rescue the creatures.
Exploring in the snow
Head, shoulders, knees and toes
The children set up the game head, shoulders, knees and toes by themselves. After being shown by an adult how to play the game the children supported each other to take turns and complete the game correctly.
This activity helps to support making relationships, turn taking and awareness of the needs of others.
Under the table drawing
Today we decided to do some under the table drawing. This different method of drawing allows the children to further develop their fine and gross motor skills in a fun and different way. This will help to develop pencil grip for writing.
